Accommodations for General Participants

Hotel reservation has been started by JTB (a Japanese travel agency). Please download the &ref(): File not found: "Hotel_Reservation_Sheet_UCGP2008.pdf" at page "Accommodation"; and send a FAX or Email directly to JTB (first-come-first-served basis).

Finding accommodations in Kyoto during the period of UCGP2008 could be very difficult because late November is a peak time for people coming to Kyoto to enjoy famous burning leaves.

You may want to use the following booking website, though most hotels seem to be already full.

Information on accommodations in Kyoto is available also from YITP (Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics, Kyoto University).

Accommodations for Invited Speakers

Accommodations for foreign invited speakers? and committee members have already been booked at the following university facilities. Both facilities are within 5 minutes on foot from the conference site.

Please see the list of available rooms (readable only), and let us know about your arrival and departure dates, number of accompany person(s), and any request if you have. Room arrangements will be done with first-come-first-served basis. Rooms for participants of the JSPS Japan-France bilateral meeting have been booked separately (see the list).

We suppose that most foreign invited speakers will want to stay until Saturday (Nov 29) morning, but the hotel (Shirankaikan) is already fully booked for the night of Nov 28, unfortunately. There are however some possible options for people who want to stay until Saturday morning.

  1. 5 single rooms are available at Kyodaikaikan, and 2 twin rooms are available at Shirankaikan. Please let us know if you want to use those rooms.
  2. JTB has started Hotel reservation service for UCGP2008, so please contact to JTB about accommodation for the night of Nov 28 using the &ref(): File not found: "Hotel_Reservation_Sheet_UCGP2008.pdf" at page "Accommodation";.
  3. We may recommend you to find a room in Osaka for the night of Nov 28, since we suppose you will go to Osaka-Kansai airport anyway for your returning flight. Umeda and Shin-osaka areas are probably the best area for people coming from Kyoto and going to Kansai airport. There are a lot of hotels there. The followings are some typical examples.
