今年は、アルダーとウェインライトが剛体球系の分子動力学シミュレーションによる相転移(いわゆるアルダー
転移)を示す最初の論文を発表した年からちょうど50年となります。この特別な年を記念し、分子シミュレーシ
ョン５０年の歴史を振り返ると共に、今後の統計力学や分子シミュレーションの発展の可能性を探る機会として、
アルダー氏の来日を機に、氏の主要な業績（剛体球系分子動力学、アルダー転移、ロングタイムテールや
輸送係数）に焦点をあて、日本の非平衡系の統計力学研究の最近の成果とこれからの発展を展望し、討論
するシンポジウムを開催します。また前日(11/28)には、第２１回分子シミュレーション討論会にてアルダー転移
５０周年を記念した特別セッション"The 50th anniversary of the Alder transition"が開催される予定です。

Prof. Kenichi Fukui, a Nobel Prize laureate in Chemistry 1981 together with Prof. Roald Hoffmann, was born in Nara prefecture on Oct. 4, 1918. To celebrate Prof. Kenichi Fukui's 100th birthday, we organize ''FUKUI 2018'', a series of memorial events in Kyoto University.

In the Satellite Symposium at FIFC, we wish to highlight the various contributions of FIFC,
which was established to succeed and develop Prof. Kenichi Fukui's philosophy on researches whereby we will contribute to the progress of sciences in the world,
with inviting a few active scientists from former and the present members of FIFC as lectures.
We also would like to invite Poster contributions related to the broad topics in Chemistry and Physics from all over the world to shear this memorial moment.
